You can generate AI subtitle translations and dubbed audio for multiple videos at once directly from your Vimeo Library. This lets you apply language translations across your entire library in a single action, instead of processing each video individually.
Who can use this feature
Subtitle translation in bulk: Available to any user who already has access to Vimeo AI subtitle translation.
Dubbing in bulk: Available to team members on select Vimeo Enterprise plans.
Translate subtitles for multiple videos
- In your Library, switch to list view or grid view.
- Check the box on the left side of each video thumbnail you want to include. To select all videos in a folder, click the folder and then select all.
- In the bulk actions toolbar that appears at the top of the page, select Translate subtitles.
- Choose one or more destination languages from the list.
- Select Start.
Vimeo AI will generate the subtitle translations in the background. You'll receive a notification when they're complete, and the translated subtitles will appear in the Languages section of each video's settings.
Translate and dub multiple videos
- In your Library, check the box on the left side of each video you want to translate and dub, or open a folder and select all videos inside it.
- In the bulk actions toolbar, select Translate and dub.
- Choose one or more destination languages from the list.
- Select Start.
The translated subtitles and dubbed audio tracks will be generated in the background and added to each video automatically.
Note: Dubbing uses Vimeo AI credits. The number of credits used depends on the number of videos and the number of languages selected.
Things to know
We recommend reviewing AI-generated translations for accuracy. To edit a subtitle translation, open the video's settings, select Languages, and click the translated track.
If you edit the original transcript of a video after generating translations, you'll need to update each translated track manually — they won't update automatically.
There is no limit on how many videos you can process in a single bulk action. For very large libraries, we recommend processing in chunks — for example, selecting one folder at a time. If you experience very slow performance, contact your Customer Success Manager or reach out to Support and we can run the operation on your behalf.
Please note that AI dubbing will only be editable for 30 days after creation.
For a full list of supported languages, see About supported languages for Vimeo AI's subtitle translations.
Enterprise users can also use the Vimeo AI API to process videos programmatically. This approach is ideal for system integrators, content delivery platforms, and teams building custom workflows that need to translate or dub at scale.
